I got the $399 PS3 for 60gb because my PS2 was busted (so I just went for the upgrade). I tried my PS2 and PS1 games and they didn't work. I read on AOL news that the reason why they could get it down to $399 was because it was not backwards compatible. Are there any updates I can do or some way I can make it compatible? Or am I gonna have to just get another PS2?

I tried to do it in standby mode and hoped it would charge (a little similar to a mobile phone) overnight, but it seems that i should have left the playstation on. Is this correct?

I am going to buy a PS3 after new years, and need help choosing a ps3. There is the choice between 40g and 80g. Now do BOTH have HDMI outputs, and can access the net? I know one the 40g doesnt have backwards compatibility, but I dont really need that.

Is there any diffrence in quality between them as well?

I just got a PS2 and i dont have a memory card. i want to know:

1. What brand is the best? (or do generic brands work the same because they sell for less money)

2. How many MB or GB or whatever? (i have no clue)

3. do i need one memory card for each game or just one or two for all of them?

As you can tell, i dont know much about them so give me as much help as possible! thanks.

Thought I was being clever when on a recent visit to NY I bought some PS2 games to put away as Xmas presents. But when we tried to play them found they were not compatable with the UK PS2. Anyone know if there is a way to make them work? Never had this problem with Nintendo DS games.

Sorry I know it's not a question but it had to be said with all the Xbox fanboys constantly going on about how the PS3 is too expensive it won't outsell the 360.

Hardware Totals;
Cosole - Weekly
PS3 - 619,388
360 - 594,520

Software Totals:
Console - Weekly
PS3 - 1,154,488
360 - 999,230
