it is still set to output through HD
to put it back on AVI:
turn it onto standby so the lights are red
hold the power button until you hear a bunch of shrill beeps
this will reset the video output to AVI

I had the same problem, it was lucky my partner had the instructions when we tossed off the paper.

put through hd
to put it on AVI:
turn it onto standby so the lights are red
hold the power button until you hear a couple of funny beeps
And it will reset
