No, they will not catch fire, but you do want to keep in a well ventilated area, not in a cabinet or an in closed area, they get pretty hot after a few hours of play and if not properly ventilated I'm sure it will burn out the circuit board or CPU.

i could recommend PS3 slender + PS2 slender, i've got had a 60GB PS3 and it ended up getting the YLOD two times and that i finished up never even employing the BC for it. After the 2nd 300 and sixty 5 days of possessing it it have been given incredibly loud so I bought it and am now at the instant looking forward to the PS3 slender(bought my PS3 60 GB for $3 hundred btw). verify craigslist and kijiji in case you're gonna purchase one my pal offered a 60 GB for $220 on kijiji and fairly a super sort of them choose for in simple terms $3 hundred-$250 now.

There was a stress-test done on the PS3 a while ago, I don't remember by what website. They ran a PS3 in a sauna at over 120 degrees for 24 hours straight with no problems. It also ran for several hours in a freezer, until moisture shorted out the power connection. You shouldn't have any problems...

Absolutely not! I have a 60GB ps3 for six months and every Sunday I play for almost 10 hours! My ps3 is OK! Trust me! The ps3 is not overheated as they said some rumors! Those rumors are from Microsoft! ps3 is the best console in the world!

...and deploy a minigun... :-)
No, that's just a rumor. I left my 60GB running up to 15 hours (Folding@Home project). 360 can destroy itself, though.
