Yes, they will. My PS3 is from US, I live in Europe. Local games work. PS3 games are region free, but PS1 games and movies aren't.

PS3 games will work.
PS2 games won't (it doesn't matter since the 40gb can't play them), and neither will PS1 games, dvd's, and most blu-ray movies.

it should because i buy games here and send it to my cousin in brazi you see ps3 games there are really expensive so i dont see why they wouldnt work on your ps3
