hi, i bought an 80gb ps3 console in America a few weeks ago, and just need to know if PS3 games purchased in the UK will work on it?

PS3 games are region free, PS1/2 games and movies aren't.

Not As Far As I Know.
I Tried To Do It With A PS1 And It Was All In Black And White, And The Same Happened With The PS2.
And Furthermore, Sometimes The Ps1/2 Woulden't Work With The TV.
But Maybe PS3 Is Different, But I Woulden't Think So.

sony mentioned that they are starting to be rid of a area that facilitates this type of backward compatiblity from the european ps3, its sony europe relatively however the device softare would be upgraded to allow greater titles from ps2 onto the ps3. by using the years the country would be getting a similar element yet people who purchase now wont get a similar situation, im in uk i preorded im disapionted.

Yes it will becuase it is region free.But... the ps2 game ffrom the UK will not work on the ps3 becuase its from USA.The ps2 games arent region free.

The US PS3 uses NTSC system. Make sure your games are NTSC system as well.
