I want to test to see if I am getting voltage. How can I make an LED light up when there is 110 volts coming through the circuit? I think most LEDs will operate at less than 12 volts, but I am not sure. I am electronically iliterate.

Thanks, JW

Temporarily using an old handset while mine's being fixed. It's a pretty old Motorola (big, ugly silver thing!). Yesterday I was getting delivery reports for any text messages I sent, but today they seem to have vanished and can't remember how I set them up in the first place.
Handset's a bit dodgy and tends to tell me messages have been sent when they haven't;hence need for delivery reports.
Not sure if it's relevent,but it's on 3 network.

Is there really that big a of difference between the two types of resolutions? I know there's a big price point on the 1080 but is it really worth it?

I'm looking for a basic digital camera that isn’t prohibitively expensive that will take color or even just B/W pics. I want to use it to take pictures of my home while I am away so it would have to have the capability to either take pictures at user set intervals or at least regular preset intervals. The picture quality doesn’t have to be outstanding, just good enough to show the basic activity going on in the shot. Also, it needs to be low profile so as to be hidden if possible. It does not have to transmit, but rather just store the images for later retrieval.

I was looking online for such a camera and under the search criteria I put in, I came up with the Sony Cybershot DSC-S500. Anyone know if this camera has the above stated features? Thanks!

I want to purchase a video camera for my father who will be 65 in February. It has to be something that won't be too hard for him to understand. He likes mechanical things, but he does not own a computer, so it cannot be anything he has to hook up to a computer. Is there anything you would recommend that would be simple for him to use that he can use on video tapes? He does have a VCR. I want one that isn't too cheap and not too expensive. I would like some opinions on brand names that will last and any recommendations and to battery life etc. Thank you in advance.
