I want to purchase a video camera for my father who will be 65 in February. It has to be something that won't be too hard for him to understand. He likes mechanical things, but he does not own a computer, so it cannot be anything he has to hook up to a computer. Is there anything you would recommend that would be simple for him to use that he can use on video tapes? He does have a VCR. I want one that isn't too cheap and not too expensive. I would like some opinions on brand names that will last and any recommendations and to battery life etc. Thank you in advance.

If you cannot have a serious and nice answer, don't answer at all.
I am not saying my father is stupid. My father doesn't live near me if you must know. I cannot go over with him. I wan't something he can enjoy with his grandkids that are near and that he can operate without any hassle.

I know my father, you do not. He gets overwhelmed with anything like computers. So if it has to be hooked up to a computer like a digital, then he won't want it.
