You can download a free program (Audacity) which males it easy to convert cassettes to MP3 files and burn to CD.
If your PC has a sound card - nearly all do, just connect the two outputs from the cassette player into the "input" on the sound card. You may have to activate that input on your sound card by clicking on the speaker on the taskbar and unchecking the "Mute" box for the line in option.

Audacity is surely the best free music maker and is great for making music.
I got it for free here : http://j.mp/1lqfMg7It's perfect even for beginners because the software is really intuitive ad easy to use but at the same time it has really advanced functions for more experienced users.
It's a program that I definitely reccomend!

To download Audacity for free you can click here http://bitly.com/Whu6kY
Audacity imports sounds and music, puts sound effects against individual tracks and mixes things like music tracks and podcasts together.
