i am looking to buy a 46/47 inch lcd tv but every one i have found seems to be widescreen and i dont want this. i prefer the more square screen , 4:3 i think they are called? does anybody know where i can get one?

It's going to be near impossible because the FCC is switching to widescreen (16:9) only after Feb. 2009. So getting a 4:3 would be shooting yourself in the foot. You can still find them in the smaller sizes, but anything larger than a 26" will have you hard pressed. We're switching to that because the NFL (by far the largest economic influence in television) broadcasts in 16:9.

Sorry, but at this point you may be out of luck.

Why not go for widescreen? its far better and at 46/47 inch it would look nicer

most tvs now allow you to alter what size screen you want to watch.
