We can get service with one cell phone provider at our house, but not with the other and they both bounce off the same tower close to our house.

I got tired of having to take 6 or 7 disposable cameras to my Mardi Gras type events in Florida. Instead, I purchased a 200.00 HP M407, along with a 256 memory stick. The problem I'm having is I can't seem to find a way to point and shoot before the action has already taken place. I press the shutter, but the camera has to access the memory card, then the flash goes off, then I look up and realize I'm all alone and the crowd is halfway down the freaking street!! Are all digital cameras like this, or am I doing something wrong?

I am shopping for my 1st Digital camera. This is my FIRST leap into the Digital picture "scene"..... I want a camera that will keep it's technological-edge so it will not be outdated w.i. 2 months or so.
I have an "older" 35-mm camera with more lenses than I know what to do with. I feel quite "skilled" using that camera. - I have a few BEAUTIFUL outdoor scenes I took w. it years ago.
For what "specifics" should I shop in a Digital camera? - I receive many suggestions from my local stores tauting "THIER cameras are best......."
Thanks for suggestions and advice.

I don't know much about either Direct TV or Dish Network, but their prices and channel selection look amazing in comparison to Mediacom and I'm wondering if people who have Direct TV or Dish Network are satisfied with their service. I also need to know if you have to have an active land phone line for either to work, because I just use a cell phone. Also, if you don't get the DVR devices to pause/rewind live TV, can you still connect a regular VCR to your TV and record programs? Any other general information you can give me about other cable options would also be much appreciated. Thank you!

I recently had to have my computer wiped, so i lost all my itunes songs on my computer (but still have them on the ipod). I've re-installed the itunes program, but when you plug the ipod in it starts to automatically update which i dont want because itunes is currently blank. The only way to stop the ipod automatically updating is to go on edit, preferences, then ipod, but you cant access this until the ipod is actually connected and therefore automatically updating itself. I dont want it to do this so that i can connect it then transfer all the songs from 'my ipod' into 'library' and then put them back on my ipod before updating it again. Confusing i know, but i really dont want to lose all my songs as ive had my ipod for years and many of the songs are from borrowed/downloaded albums! Oh and i have a PC, not a mac..apparently this problem is solveable on a mac...damnit.

It doesn't have to be fancy, but address book, calendar, able to have some software put on it, and able to have books put on it. Also it needs to be able to play a variety of games. But I don't want internet access or anything like that. Also, good to OK battery life.

My mother does this. What's the sense of having a cell phone if it is never on. I'm sitting at home wondering if my mother has come to town like she often does on Saturdays. I phoned her home at there was no answer. I tried her cell phone but it is off. So here I sit doing nothing and waiting for her to show up. I want to go do something but I don't want to miss my mother's visit.

- What do you call this feature (technical name)?

- I assume it cannot be tempered ("roll back the mileage")? Can you trust this number when buying a used camera?

- Which camera brand(s) has this feature?
