I know how you feel. I always have mine on. It will be on vibe or in my purse, but at least I can look at it and see if some one needs to get a hold of me. My mother's cell drives me nutz. She has it set so she doesn't get incoming calls because she doesn't want to pay for the minutes. I can't even call her to leave a message! She has a house phone, but won't get an answering machine. She works two jobs and often stays over night at one (a resort), or will crash at a friend's house. I have no idea where she is. Then she gets annoyed at me for not calling.
ARGGGGGGGGGG mothers....

Guilty. I use my cell phone for emergency purposes only. I usually keep it turned off until I need it. Your mother probably uses it the same way. Remember, she grew up during a time when the only phone you had was sitting at home and nobody could keep track of you if you were out of the house.

No that is not an city legend that cellphones can influence flight platforms. Your telephone received't influence the actual operation of the airplane. The flaps, landing equipment, and flight controls will all artwork wonderful. that is the gentle gadgets used for landing that they could influence. i have been an aviation mechanic for a lengthy time period, and that i continually idea it turned right into a delusion myself. yet i become flying with a pal sometime in a small deepest airplane. He had his telephone contained in the map pocket. all of a shocking the a number of the gadgets began fluctuation wildly. some seconds later, the phone began ringing. i have considered an same component take position close to TVs or audio equipment. you ought to continually tell at the same time as my roommate's telephone become about to ring, because his laptop audio equipment ought to commence hissing and popping. Do i imagine that is uncommon, certain. yet no one needs to take any opportunities on a depressing evening in the course of an IFR landing.

No! When a cell phone is on for more than 5 minutes it goes into powersave so my battery still lasts 4 days with it on.

I keep mine on 24/7. It is my main line of communication. What idi you get the phone for? Emergencies or as a way to keep in touch with friends? Leave it on and plug it in at night while you are asleep this keeps the battery charged and ready to go. :)

My dad does that. It bothers me. He says he has it in case he needs to make an emergency call, but his phone takes so long to turn on, that by the time he could dial 911, he'd be unconscious. I never turn mine off. Just on silent.

No, they are designed to stay on , wear the battery down and recharge . Its good to turn them off within 48 hours , but not as frequent as this sounds.
