I am trying to sell my 1998 Samsung T.V. and a potential buyer has asked me if it has an S-video connection. How can I verify whether or not my T.V. is equipped with this feature?

Andrew B said the correct answer. Picture quality is 100% better with this cable becuase of progressive scan.

See normally a TV or computer only shows you 50% of the images at a time in the form of lines that alternate back and forth. Your eyes don't notice there is a complete picture.

Progressive scan with S-video allows you to see all lines at the same time. You'll find the photos are criper and clearer.

It's a small round connector and it's usually associated with 'video 1'. It allows you to input a signal where with the luminance (black and white portion) on one pin and the chrominance (color portion) on another pin. It still is interlaced not progressive, and since you don't have to use the comb filter when you use this connector the picture is clearer (for a regular definition TV).

You can't miss it if it has one. It's a small, round black connector with 4 or 6 holes in it and it's usually on the back of the TV or VCR, near the other inputs.

S-Video is like your standard audio jacks (audio white, video yellow, and right audio red)

Basically its much better because its all 3 connection built into a smaller cord, which can be found at walmart fairly cheap pending on the size you need and quality.
