It doesn't have to be fancy, but address book, calendar, able to have some software put on it, and able to have books put on it. Also it needs to be able to play a variety of games. But I don't want internet access or anything like that. Also, good to OK battery life.

You will not be able to get a Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) for your budget. You can get a very cheap, very basic PDA at Target or even drug stores in the U.S., but you will not be able to load software. Those cheap PDA (from Sharp and Texas Instruments) will cost about $20 - $40 but will only offer storage of contacts, calendar, to-do lists, and maybe some notes.

The best basic PDA is the Palm Z22 which will give you a lot more than the aforementioned cheap PDA. It retails for $99, but you may be able to find it for a bit less on eBay.

Here is the Palm Z22

Pretty hard to find something at that price. Either check Ebay for those really old monochrome Palms, or your local liquidation stores that may sell old electronics.

I think something like the old Palm V, Vx, IIIe or similar may be in the range. Forget about getting a color one though.

May want to try places that do Palm repairs that may sell them. Or Cheappalm.com
