Consumer Electronics - 2 July 2006

I have just recently moved to Ft. Irwin, California and when I moved on base I found out that they only cell phones that received signal was Cingular and Verizon. I am frustrated because I have a service contract with T- Mobile and I have to drive 20 minutes off base just to get a signal. Does anybody have any suggestions on what I should do?

Problem with digital camera memory card.?

I own an Olympus Camedia C-3020 digital camera.
My memory card (PNY SmartMedia 128MB) does not have any pictures on it, but when i insert it into my digital camera it says the memory card is full.
I have used the memory card before with no problems.
Anyone know how I could fix this?

I have some music DVD whose audio I want to rip, but I don't have a DVD audio ripper. Can anyone recommend a freebie that will rip the files in a standard audio format (.wma or .mp3. hopefully)?

Can I load regular old MP3 files from my hard drive to the IPod, or do songs have to be transferred to the IPod from an audio CD?

I have about 200 VHS tapes that are very dirty. Is there any way to clean them so I could record to DVD?

Tapes have been stored for 10 years or more in a dusty area.VHS player loses the picture after about 1 minute .

What should I do? read the details.?

My Sony cyber-shot 3.2 megapixel camera has a new memory stick.I put in new batteries (Kodak) yesterday ;and when it did not work today I tried the two spare(pk of 4) and bought another pk of a different brand. The batteries are in correctly.I have tried every possible combination and so has my brother.What do I do next?Any suggestions about what to try before I go out and buy another camera? Camera repair is a very low option because I know it can be costly (like repairing a car). Any suggestions about a troublefree or quality brand? I have had the camera for about 27 months and at least 11 mths have been plagued with trouble.
