I have just recently moved to Ft. Irwin, California and when I moved on base I found out that they only cell phones that received signal was Cingular and Verizon. I am frustrated because I have a service contract with T- Mobile and I have to drive 20 minutes off base just to get a signal. Does anybody have any suggestions on what I should do?

I have heard this many times about T-Mobile so sorry! :-( I would just pay the early contract cancellation fee I think it might be like $175 but worth it if you cant have service for 2 years :-(. Or I would see if you can get out of your contract without paying the hefty fee because my aunt got out of her verizon wireless contract because they didnt have service in her rural area. I would try verizon though because they have nationwide coverage. I have a prepaid nationwide tracfone that runs off of U.S. Cellular but I found that the easiest way to curb this situation would be to get a tracfone or another contract but with tracfone you can make your coverage area anywhere in the u.s. by zipcode and tracfone automatically selects the best service provider for that zipcode in my area it is U.S. Cellular.

HTH :-)

Sorry about T-Mobile they dont even have decent coverage where I live and my friend is going through the same crap.

I had the same problem and I live in Roch. NY. You just have to wait the contract out and deal with it or pay the cancellation fee and switch servers.
