Pros: It's easy to use.

Cons: It's not durable, scratches easily, doesn't have an FM radio, doesn't have voice recording, doesn't have video playback, doesn't support music stores besides iTunes and eMusic, and is overpriced. It's also been oversaturated with advertising and etc.

I recommend you get the Sandisk Sansa e200. It's cheaper than the respective Nano and has more features.

If you want a cool and original design, get the iRiver Clix. You press the edge of the screen to navigate!

To the above answerer: iPod Nano Video? There's only the Shuffle, the Nano, and the with Video.

It can be good if you only take care of it.

Many people I know who have them have treated them like they are suppose to last forever (no shell, tossing them, etc...) and wonder why they don't last or look good anymore.

First, get a rubber/hard shell to cover the Nano. This will help protect it a lot more from getting scratched. (If the shell doesn't have a screen cover, I recommend getting the screen protectors that you would use on a PDA, and cut it to size to fit on the screen. If you want, cut one to cover the metal-back part of the iPod too so it will remain reflective later on in its life.)

Second, never place them in your back pocket. You may forget about it and accidental sit on it.

Good luck.
