Acutally...when you buy a Dell your actually getting a lower end Samsung Tv. Dell just has licence agreements with Samsung to do this. Needless to say both companies put together gorgious TVs. The only difference between them is A) Sony gives a more true to live picture and Samsung (or Dell in this case) provides a more vivid color bring out a wider range of colors and B) the price point if you compare Samsung to Sony the Samsung Tvs look fantastic for roughly $300 to $400 less.

Now that just the basic comperisons. now lets look at the specs:

DELL W3201C
Type: 32-inch High Definition LCD TV
Contrast Ratio: 1000:1
Max Resolution: 1366 x 768
Price: $1,599.00

SONY KDL32S2000
Type: BRAVIA™ 32" LCD HDTV
Contrast Ratio: 1300:1
Max Resolution: 1366 x 768
Price: $1,899.99

SONY KDLV32XBR1
Type: BRAVIA™ 32" LCD HDTV
Contrast Ratio: 1300:1
Max Resolution: 1366 x 768
Price: $2,299.99

SAMSUNG LN-S3241D
Type: 32" Widescreen LCD HDTV
Contrast Ratio: 3000:1
Max Resolution: 1366 x 768
Price: $1,599.99

SAMSUNG LN-S3251D
Type: 32" LCD HDTV
Contrast Ratio: 4000:1
Max Resolution: 1366 x 768
Price: $1,799.99

SAMSUNG LN-S3252D
Type: 32" Widescreen LCD HDTV with White Exterior
Contrast Ratio: 4000:1
Max Resolution: 1366 x 768
Price: $1,799.99

As you can see the Dell Tv sucks having the lowest contrast ratio were as Samsung has at least 3000:1. Now i know you'll see that the two Sony have the exact same specs but if you actually go into a store and look at both of them you'll see a color difference. Personally i'm partial to the samsungs but either way you go you'll get a good Tv. Just look at the specs and the picture quality and you'll be all set.

Sony not doubt. They been around making TVs for more than 40-years, while Dell just order them from Hong Kong Based Skyworth Co., Ltd. Don't let the price difference between them fool you. The old "You get what you pay" applies here. If you're in a budget and want a Dell, then order it from http://www.Costco.com instead of Dell Home Store., if something goes wrong with it, you can always bring it to the one of Costco warehouses and get a full refund {including shipping}., But if you buy it directly from Dell, you're stuck with their conditions and they won't exchange it for a new unit or refund your money, they will only send you a refurbished unit. And if that unit is also defective, they will keep swapping with more refurbished TVs, until your factory warranty expires, then you're on your own.

It's definitely a Sony Bravia. It's in the top 3 ranking among all LCDs. Infact, it's first.

with out a doubt go for the Sony. The cost is higher but the quality and reliability is far superior.than anything from Dell.

I'd go with Sony because they've been around longer and have had more time to perfect the technology and translate it to hardware.

I have to say since I work for a authorized repair facility that usually your best bet is to go for the company that was the first to develop the product. So my recommendation is Sharp.
