Software - March 2007

Since my son tried to delete Sim City from our PC, ........................everytime we try to lauch an application, the system launches Windows Picture and Fax viewer and then stays at the screen.

Any advice on where to start looking for a corrupt file or deleted file.

Basically, i need to do the following WITHOUT using a table:

(The "____" denotes a space)

2006-_____Mr Smith
2007 _____Blacksons Ltd
_________Birmingham

Thing is, whenever i play around with the tabs, it ends up looking a complete mess because to get the date (2007) underneath one another, i have to press return.

So when i type out the "Mr Smith..." line and hit return, i begin to write imbetween the date, so it ends up looking like this:

2006-______Mr Smith
Blacksons Ltd
Birmingham
2007

The date must be as shown above, it cannot be on the same line. And the text (Mr Smith) must begin on the same line as the "2006".

So how can i do it? I know you can do it with a table, but i dont want to use one.

Any ideas?? Or is this a classic example of word being its usual clumsy self???

Hi,

I have uploaded pictures and audio/video tapes from my digital camera some days ago.

Nobody has been touching the computer ever since and today when I wanted to watch the videos I have made with the digital camera I realised they are all gone, only pictures are left there!!!!!!!!

I have checked the recycle bin and some other folders but I can not find them. Any ideas where could they be???

p.s. I have already tried the usual search and i do not open them in the picture format so please bring on some new ideas, i really need this.

Please, HELP!!!

I tried installing Windows Vista on an old computer of mine which is a Pentium 800. The first thing it said is something like 'The Computer must be ACPA compliant..'.

I'm buying a computer this evening after work. I have always been pretty good at installing my own software and stuff, so I was going to install Windows Vista myself instead of having it done in the store and paying an extra 150 dollars or so.
I've heard it can be tricky, though. Is there anything I should know before trying it? Is it extremely difficult?

Any suggestions from someone who has installed it would be appreciated.

I create the work schedule for 42 employees weekly. I emailed the blank schedule format from work to my home email. I worked on it for 3 hours, pushed save, and when I went back, it was all gone.
I cannot locate it. It was created originally on an excel worksheet.
Can anyone help me locate it? I truly don't want to start over. Its due today.
