Windows Vista is a new operating system for Windows. It's replacing XP. I would imagine it's only as hard to uninstall it as it is to install. See disadvantages.

Advantages:
Better security
Better overall performance (I think)
New features (I don't know 'em)

Also, since Congress changed when Daylight Savings Time occurs, the clocks will automatically change at the correct time. XP users will have to adjust them automatically.

Disadvantages:
It's new, and there may be some unforseen bugs.

You might have to get new hardware-I'm not sure what, but I would think it would be included with the software if you need it. If new hardware is required to use Vista, and XP cannot use it, then it would have to be removed if you want to uninstall. I don't think that's a likely scenario.

Hope that helps.

Vista is the newest version of windows from microsoft.

There are very few actual advantages - and since it is new, you will most like run into compatibility issues, bugs, and other stuff that will eventually get worked out, but would leave you dead in the water now.

I bought a new laptop with it on it, and it does look pretty, and has a few new features that are decent (you can move your mouse pointer over minimized programs and it gives you a tiny preview of what that window is doing).

I wouldn't suggest loading it on an older machine though, unless you are willing to upgrade it - and even then, you probably don't need it.

it's just looks more beautiful, a offer a little better security than XP, otherwise, it's not ready for public yet. In order to use it, your computer must be powerful ...not to mention new....even new and not power enough to run, then forget it. and then incompability of other machines (printers, scanners, etc....) you would need the "vista" driver in order for them to work, and it's up to the mft to have one available or not, if not, you're out of luck. So, stick with XP as long as you can, don't worry about Vista, it's not worth to use it yet, maybe another year, then we'll reconsider about it.

There is a wealth of information here: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/windowsvista/default.mspx

I'd suggest upgrading as long as your computer is fairly new. It's the only operating system that's going to be sold from here on out, so, I'd jump on the bandwagon and not be left behind.

Hope this helps.
