When I try a System Restore all I get is a "cannot restore to this date" error, regardless of date selected. This problem started subsequent to installation of Norton Anti Virus 6 a few months back...Anyone know how to solve this problem?

Go to Norton's to get the Norton's remover tool as it is known it is hard to get off sometimes. Delete Norton Then do your Restore if possible.

Never have heard of this as I have the 2006. But I might have to try the restore myself and see what happens.

Try uninstalling Norton.

It is mostly useless - almost all virus software just wastes your time bugging you about everything you do, and if a virus does try to get on your computer (almost all of them still require you to open an attachment or do something to get them) then unless you religiously update your virus definitions it will probably slip through anyway.

Just delete e-mail from people don't know, and don't click on attachments unless you are sure of what you are doing. Get adaware personal for free from lavasoft.com, and if you are still worried about viruses, just run the occasional scan (there are dozens of programs for scanning your computers hard drive and registry for viruses - and if you find one, you don't need norton or mccaffee to get rid of it - there are hundreds of websites dedicated to manual virus removal (or that provide little programs for removing and repairing).

Dump Norton, try Grisoft AVG, its free and a fairly small program that works as well or even better than Norton.
