I just got an old G4 desktop - my first ever mac - which I'll use for a few months before investing in something fresh out of the box. Anyway, I did a free upgrade of its progs and OS online; but I am wondering if there are any security issues that I should be aware of, and for which more upgrades or downloads may be necessary. I am using Picassa from Google pack to organise my photos. I created a set of 4 cds using "Create a gift cd" option. I can only see pictures on the first cd but not able to view pictures on the other 3 cds.

i had a 30gb ipod and it's full..so i got new 60gb ipod and now want to transfer all my 30gb music to my new 60gb ipod....how can i do this? i dont have all that music in my library anymore. please help. i dont want to carry around TWO ipods! HELP! can this be done?

PLzzz Help me ragarding a software. Its Urgent.Plz help!!!!!!!!!

I hav a video file with a .avi extension.
now i wanna change it to an audio file of .wav extension.
so is their any software to convert vedio file of ".avi " format to an audio file of ".wav" format???
Name that software.And where can i get that software??

Its very urgent since its a part of my project work.

I have a new mp3 player and want to know how to get movies onto it. I have no idea how I would upload a movie to my computer from a dvd. I wouldn't even know what software would be best to use or if you can use Windows Media Player or something. Can anyone help??

I recently purchased an mini-itx motherboard through ebay. It has integrated video, audio, LAN as well as a TV out. It has a 1.3 ghz celeron processor and 128 mb of ram, and supports a max of 256. It will also have a 30GB laptop HDD that came from a 2 year old dell notebook

I plan on using this as a media-center type PC. I would like to connect it to my TV's s-video (i am currently doing this with another PC, but the PC is big and ugly, hence the downsizing), and I was wondering if there is a highly efficient superslim linux distro that will allow me to do the following

run w/ minimal system reserves
display video w/ a max resoultion of 600x480
allow me to access files on remote windows XP PCs
stream files across the network so that i can watch them without copying to the HDD first

I recently downloaded a patch from Microsoft relating to the change in daylight savings time -- though I wasn't told what it was when I was downloading it. After the download, it automatically/erroneously moved all of my Outlook appointments between Mar. 11-Mar. 31 and Oct. 28-Nov. 3 back one hour without notifying me. Then, after I accidentally discovered the problem I manually moved them back. But, now I can't syncronize with my Blackberry for those time periods. No matter where I make the change (on my computer or my Blackberry), the Blackberry is always 1 hour earlier than the computer. This is unbelievabley frustrating, and it affects subsequent years as well. What can I do? Please don't tell me to restore my old Windows settings or restore my Blackberry to factory settings. I am looking for a fix that i can implement easily on my computer and/or my Blackberry. If one doesn't exist, so be it.

I work for a newspaper, our server was getting short on space so we started saving dates to a PC. Everything worked fine, when we needed a previous ad we just transfered from the PC back to our server (by the way the server is a PC), and our macs were able to use it. The hard drive on that pc crashed and I was able to recover the dates and they are now on my PC. The problem is when I transfer ads to the server the macs won't open them, and they show up as a pc document. Anyone know how to fix this or if there is a fix

I have a Windows XP notebook that won't boot up and won't even let me reinstall Windows XP from the installation CD.
How can I create a Windows XP or a DOS rescue boot floppy diskette on my desktop computer to copy to a CD and use on the notebook to boot up the notebook in DOS mode, to see what is the problem?

i deleted 2 gigs of hard disk programs and old files but windows says i only have 7mb! so, i believed i have too much viruses and spyware and thought i could just clean it up. I tried to reinstall windows xp with my xp cd but it says i cant the verision is older than the present one. and reformat wont do the job either because windows is using still running.
last year i had 4 gigs and now i only have 700mb, whats eating up my hard drive space?
