i wanna download MySQL (http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/mysql/5.0.html) but i dunno which package, the 'windows x86' (the first one) or 'windows x64' when i look at my computer properties it says "Microsoft Windows XP-Professional-Version 2002-Service Pack 2"

The "x86" or "x64" refers to the processor type in your computer.

If you have an Intel (Pentium something) or or AMD, then you want the "x86" package. Given that you are running MS-Windows, you almost certainly have an x86 compatible.

Go to this page:

http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/mysql/5.0.html#downloads

Choose the download that says:

"Windows (x86) ZIP/Setup.EXE"

You should be good to go!
