Software - March 2007

My son is doing a 20-30 minute PowerPoint presentation on the 20th Century - such a small topic! As well as ordinary slides, he has to include music and video clips. He is doing 10 slides per decade and wants to include one video clip per decade as well. He has worked out how to put the music on so it covers a few slides, so that is sorted!

The problem is : we do not know how to make video clips shorter! He only wants 10 second clips, but they are all much too long!

Can we edit the clips or make them play for only 10 seconds - and if so, HOW! - or is there a site that has very short video clips of things like the Hindenburg disaster, Neil Armstrong on the Moon, and so on?
Although we have Apple Quick Time 7.1.5, we do not have Pro (and are not going to get it, unless it is free!!!)

Please realise that we are not brilliant technically speaking, so want answers using the simplest possible language!

How to bring images drawn from photoshop or illustrator to flash? I tried to import the PNG files but when I was trying to resize them, they got pixelated.Is there any other preceedure? Please tell me.

one time i found a list of all the websites or cookies that had been blocked on my pc xp sp2, im not talking about the add or remove websites part but the part that showed all of the blocked ones any help to find this again would be appreciated thank you

Whether using the copy & paste metohd or ripping the music files using any good software like WMP ensures better quality of duplicate music files?Any reason?

I have had problems streaming over the net with WinAmp and the shoutcast plug in, so I am wondering if there is a way, or a program that allows me to stream music (internet radio) over the internet. I have all the equipment, I just don't know if it is possible to do in wmp. If it is not possible, what other quality programs exist that would allow me to broadcast over the net?

I accidently downloaded this virus form limewire while trying to download a diffrent program. Of course I trust this download was what i was looking for but when I noticed it was a virus I went to the download again and it described it as a program that creates pop ups while browsing the internet and will uninstall itself after 1 week, but if there is no uninstall option than you can not uninstall it.

I'm downloading a torrent with 3200 peers (connected to 73 of them) and 0 seeds. I'm using uTorrent. I've been stuck since yesterday and it's gone from 99.0 to 99.4 and the ETA is about 12 hours. Do I really have to wait that long or is there anything I can do? Or should I just download another copy of the same thing? Thanks. (b'-')b
