in limewire, it says that the file is corrupted..is that a virus or what?

If its an audio file, the file may have an error in it, or something similar. It is highly unlikely to be a virus if the corrupted file is a typical audio file (eg mp3, wma, aac)

just that! the file is corrupted, be glad it only told you that rather than messing up your pc. some of us find these hackers and try to warn others, prior to their bad luck! limewire is on a downfall right now , all of those who know no netter use it! try kceasy its much better than limewire and has been there for as long as i can remember, since bill gates was in the works of what you are looking @!! enjoy and good luck

it depends what type of file it is if its a document maybe it wasn't downloaded 100 percent.
if its a mp3 or similar maybe the download was stoped and started again and that damaged the file

it can mean 2 things

the file was downloaded incorrectly (or a downloading error)

or yes it might be a virus..
