If its free that you want, try the AVG free edition. Its the one i use and have never had a problem till now. If you ready to pay, then Symantec or McAfee are considered the best option. For the free AVG Anti-virus...

Why don't you AVG from www.grisoft.com It is better than Macafee and Norton plus it is free for homeusers
