Oh come on... Give Movie Maker another chance! If you use your imagination, I'll bet you can make some darned nice productions using Movie Maker.

Though I'm not totally thrilled with the titling of Movie Maker, it isn't a bad program.

Or you can always shell out about $129 for Pinnacle software or $800 for Adobe Premiere Pro.

You can pick up Adobe Premiere Elements for about a 100 bucks (could find it cheaper online/ebay). Its pretty much just a watered down version of their professional video editing software. But its pretty easy to use and does everything you need for capturing video, editing, then putting back on computer or DVD.

I have been using Paint Shop Pro for over 7 years and have done all the upgrades. I am using psp10 right now and love it. It has endless ways of processing photos, painting, drawing, screenshots and so much more. Get a free 30 day trial d/l . :)
