Ive recentley been completely annoyed with Windows as my system keeps crashing ect. and its been "fixed" so many times its costing me a fortune. So I formatted the hardrive and have tried loading MEPIS which is a Linux operating system, but i cant seem to get it to install. Sometimes it will get quite far, other times it won't even get into login. Anybody else having the same problems? Or anybody finding it really good?

Why not cut down on the number of environment variables being used store only what is absolutely necessary?
Why dont they make laptops / tablet PCs have plug and play type procesors so you can add multiple processors and be able to "assign' processor-intensive or long running tasks to specific processors to free up the workload?

I'm trying to use Windows Media Player to burn some more mp3 songs to my partially full CD-RW. The program instructs me to insert a blank CD. I put in my CD-RW and get the same instructions again and the CD-RW ejects. Is there a way to use a partially full CD-RW with Windows Media Player?

I checked a few splitter programs, quite cute really but the trial version only does "50%" and I am not sure of what. Or one splitter put in a watermark all over the movie. Or, worse of all, at one point the program took so much space that it used up all the memory (more than 20 Gb free at that time). I assume I get the memory back but wow.
