the right click menu of drives in explorer? "Something that should be there but isnt"?

I wont accept any excuses. It is something that "should be there in the right click context menu..." of the appropriate drive in Windows Explorer. No need to reach for Tools/> etc. Microsoft needs to re-design Windows Explorer first for Windows is the BEST OS of the world if they play the cards right

you have to go to properties, then tools first

The disk defragment is in start/programs/accessories/system tools. Check disk or defragment is right click the disk you want checked or defragmented and go to properties and tools and they both should there. Right click the CD drive you wish to eject and it should say eject on the list...Thanks

Don't worry, some times the registry keys are coruppted by mistake or it can be also a windows problem if ur OS is not genuine.

Explorer is a browser not a drive ...it cannot check your hard drive or eject your cd/dvd...only your computer drivers can do that.

maybe you need to update your cd rom driver.
