Software - September 2006

My sound problem continues despite reinstalling my Windows 98 program overtop of the existing one. I couldn't open my sound icon to check if the mute is on and even after reinstalling Windows I still can't get the sound to work. I agree looking for sound adapters isn't the easiest process so I would prefer not to venture into that territory.

Several programs are missing key data: parts of "pages", (eg. the Backup Guide in Sonic Digital Media Studio is only half there with the top half of some of the sentences missing), my Dell printer software is missing the right hand side of over half the pages, etc. This happened a couple of weeks ago, and I have no idea why or how.
The only trouble was with Power Options ( Hibernation would not disable even when unchecked and Power Schemes would not hold). I fixed those problems.

What could cause this? What should I do? Some of the programs were preinstalled from Dell and I have no cds. How can I tell if Windows XPSp2 is missing files and folders? A System Restore would not work...it said there were no changes to my computer, so it would not restore. Also, there have been many registry changes...what kind of changes are do they mean?

I hacave a Dell Dimension 1100. Could I have lost part of the bios? How could I check? This is really freaking me out. HELP!!

I have this old audio tape of a conversation. I want to be able to adjust the audio of just one of the participants in the conversation so the whole conversation can be listened to easily without messing around with my volume control all the time. I understand I need to get the track on my computer, which is no problem. What software will allow the extraction and editing of one voice??

every time I try to email a PDF my default email was Outlook Express 2003 Trial Version.... after several attempts to email documents, I was never able to successfully complete the process of using Outlook ...... lol I guess I'm stupid lol
I deleted the whole Microsoft Office 2003 Trial Version......
O.K. My question , when trying to email now = Acrobat unable to connect to your email program and I can only click OK
So how can I use Yahoo or something to email these PDF
documents?????

I need a macro for the cells in Excel that will take whatever number I put into it (ex. 200), multiply it by 2, and add 40 to it. So for 200, I need it to let me put that number in a cell, multiply it to get 400, then add 40, for a total of 440, and display 440 in the box.I suck at Excel, so any help would me most appreciated.

Recently i asked a question about my web cam. I have tried time and time again and cant get it working. I got someone to try it on there computer and it works on theres fine. They told me that windows could be corrupt thats why the web cam isnt workin. Could this be right and how can i fix it. I havnt got the computer long so all help will be much appreciated. thanks
