i found there is a vicious exe file in my computer, it's name is "explorer.exe". in the process windows, there are two processes, one is "EXPLORER.EXE", it is the windows process for desktop, another is the "explorer.exe", when the process is runnning, my IE will usually open a website automatically.

I want to delete the file, but because the name is the same, when I search in XP, the results is all the normal explorer.exe which is in the folder Windows(in the result ,it is lower cased). i can't find the vicious "explorer.exe", so i don't know where it hide.

I can delete the vicious process in task manager, but nexttime my system reboot, it will run again.

What I didn't mention is my company's edition of Symantec AV tool is locked down (all options greyed out) and won't allow me to add any such tools. Looking for a tool that will fly under the radar of any spyware or other tools that look for activities of spyware or keystroke logging. Do you or anyone know if BFK will meet this criteria?

thanks much!!

I have hundreds of cookies and dozens of Trojans, but my biggest problem is the Mirar toolbar! I can't afford to pay for a program to pay to get rid of this, and I'm sick of downloading programs only to find that you have to buy them in order to remove the spyware! Is there any product I can download and get rid of my spyware once and for all?

Keep getting a pop up titled "Message Centre" from RegFix32.com telling me to go to their website to buy the appropriate software.
After a couple of times of closing down the window, it stays on the screen permanently. Task Manager can't close it, but can minimise it. Help would be appreciated.

As you might well be aware, Norton Personal Firewall is an abysmal piece of software.....it hogs up my RAM, takes ages to load up or display an alert when it has blocked something, and always has conflicts with my LAN. I was wondering if I could delete the Firewall alone and try to make the AntiVirus suite work with ZoneAlarm? Would this work? The only reason I want to keep the AntiVirus is that I still have more than half a year on my subscription and the free AV programs out there arent rated as highly as Norton's (the opposite seems true of NPF compared to ZoneAlarm). Can I do this and run Norton AntiVirus 2005 with ZoneAlarm or is it not advisable?
