The best way is to try to unistal and do a manual install (not automatic) and dont click to install Nortron Firewall, another way is to see if you can uninstall it sepratley from the ADD/REMOVE programs panel. If you cant you can always Disable it from Running, Tho it May conflict with Systemworks and may end up being glitchy.
To disable, Go to Start>RUN and type in MSCONFIG then here, click Selective Startup, Then go to startup tab, and disable anything thas says norton Firewall, becareful, since you are still running System works and may accdencitly disable a startup program from that.
Also since your there, Go to Services and Click Hide Microsoft Services, and Try to find any Services that point directly to the firewall software, not Symantec itself. Uncheck those and Click apply, Restart and it should be disabled.
If disabling it worked, Then it wont be run anymore when the computer turns on, but it will still be installed, If wanted you can do a manual unistall, (e.g. Browse to the folders where it was installed and delete files) but this is a very unsafe action and could cause Systemworks itself to not work Properly.

To be honest it doesnt matter how many programmes you install, whats important is how you use them. AVG is an excellent antivirus programme, especially as its free. ( Please note the free version 7.1 ends Jan 15th so update to version 7.5. ) I used Norton for years until 2004 when they wanted to charge the same price for a downloadable upgrade as I would have paid for a boxed disk at pc world.? So I moved to AVG and would never go back. It updates its virus definitions every time you connect to the internet, Norton used to be Wednesdays only. So you already have, in MY opinion a superb Antivirus, a decent Firewall should just about cover it. Biggest problem is the user. At the end of the day YOU are responsible for what you download onto your PC. If you get an unknown email, Dont open it. If a friend sends an attachment , scan it with AVG before you open it. If an email tells you to click on a link, dont, make a note of the address and go to main site site via your web browser ( dont copy and past the link) Have a decent Antivirus, a Decent firewall and use lots of common sense will keep you safe without buying and loading all the "Security" programmes out there.

When Usually when you install software like norton you get to pick what you want to install. If you have Personal Firewall just uninstall it and install Zonealarm and everything should be fine. If I were you I would stay away from Norton All they do is slow down the computer and take so much memory including the Antivirus I would get Mcafee.Well you should havge no problem uninstall the norton firewall get zonealarm and there will be no problem.

You can uninstall the Norton firewall, without problems. It's perfectly fine to run ZoneAlarm along with the other Norton programs.

my hubby (it consultant) says:
seen Norton slowing down PC many times before, normal solutions, reg re-booted due to leaky memory, if this fails, install and re-stall as Norton should be able to cope with both with out tacking up procesor time/memory.
Norton Anti Virus 2005 with Zone Alarm can run together.
You would need to disable norton firewall from within the main control panel for norton.
