There is a 'LOUD' sound that comes out of my computer quite often. It sounds just like thunder or like someone is bowling. It happens quite often but still kind of shocks me when it does it.
I keep laughing and telling my son and husband that the computer is ALIVE and sometimes I wonder if it is???!!! HA! HA!
Does anyone out there know what this is? Has anyone had similar sounds with their computer?

I get my pc settings the way I want them, they are fine for a long time, then all the sudden I'll turn it on and their different. example now every window I open opens in the small screen and I have to click maximize. Why are my sttings changing? I am the only person that uses it!

I know for PC users there is a patch by microsoft for the change in daylight saving time, but can someone explain to me if there is anything needed for MAC users?

I hate to reformat my main HD with all by valuable programs in it, not to mention getting hold of all those registration keys. Could someone suggest how to restore my PC to perform faster? I have tried disk cleaner, refrag, removing unwated files, added extra ram, registry cleanup.

There is a website called www.gov-records.com. Supposed to be able to assist in background checks, etc. The cost is $29.99. I paid and was just ripped off. No info about this website. They do have an email support feature, but I don't expect to hear from anyone. I paid through Clickbank. I emailed them to see if I can get a refund. Any suggestions?

Is there any way I can trace and located a missing document saved on my pc? The whole folder which was saved on a Desktop destination is missing as a result of some sort of operations i did on the pc (right clicking and putting password access etc on the folder)-certainly doc is not deleted, but cant find where it's hidden. Have used the search function but no go.I am just a beginner in PC systems, can somebody help? Thank you.

Hi, My win xp takes a long time to load, it's connected to a LAN. I know it's not matter of RAM or startup list. It's normal when LAN cable is off. I suspect a spy/spyware. Well, I've checked for spyware with McAfee- non were found. How can I discover if there's a spy activated on the LAN and how to stop it from working?

I've, somehow, managed to get too many programs that automatically startup when Windows starts, and I want to get rid of them. Unlike other versions of Windows, Win2K does not have a utility (like MSCONFIG) to help get this done and I was wondering if anyone else, running Win2K, is having a similar problem and has managed to get it taken care of. If so, please tell me how. BTW, this question was not answered before, because going to the 'Add/Remove' programs DOES NOT take care of the problem.

My computer was mistakenly changed so that the screen is 600x800. Now the font is too big and it's a big pain to scroll left/right to read a webpage. Sorry about the lack of computer literacy, but my windows is in Korean, not the roman alphabet and I'm not completely literate in the Korean language either. Could someone help me please? I've never had disk space issues before I tried to format and re-install Windows XP. I don't have any games or space hording programs on my computer and only about 4GB of music and photos. When I reboot, it does it like normal and does not ask me what OS to start (I've read that it does that when you have 2 OS's installed) What happened?

I've had my computer for about 10-11 months, its a Dell flat screen, i still got 88% of free memory left Its been happeneing for about a week i still got alot of memory so i really dont know whats the problem, i tried deleting stuff but it still acts slow, during this pop ups also come up before the week we never had this problem and no pop ups, the pop ups are like this CleanerDrive that says we have found adult websites on your computer but when i click scan it does some other stuff and my Mcfee Security Program said its a Trojan so i tried deleting it but it couldnt really delete. So how could i make my computer faster without buying nothing, and how can i delete the constant pop ups from happeneing?

Im am making a powerpoint slideshow on open office impress. I want to put a song that will play throught the whole presentation i can only get it to play in one slide when i go to tools then media player, i want to get it so it like plays in the backround of the presentation. Please Help.
