I love to surf the internet, learn new technologies, and I would like to pursue a Ph.D. In Computer Science. I am trying to learn PHP, XML and CSS and C language. I want to make a difference in this field. Any Suggestions, Ladies And Gentlemen?

I am getting a cable modem installed tomorrow by my cable company. My computer and everyting else is on one side of the room and the cable jack and TV are on the other side. Am I going to have to move my whole computer? Any suggestions?

Ok, seriously you'll need to read the ENTIRE question to answer accuratly.

Now my brothers computer system has always been able to play DVDs though windows media player. Today his system for some reason refused to play DVD SOUND (only, video ok) though his computer. Now it has always been fine before. I opened the system up, found nothing loose, reconnected all cables (including sound from CD drive to motherboard)...did not fix problem...after about an hour of tring to understand the problem, I put in an audio cd and it worked, but still DVD sound did not. I ended up installing a third party DVD playing program that came with codecs, and now (in the new program, not windows media) he can see video and play sound from a DVD.

My question is, what do you think actually caused this? He has done nothing that changed system settings today, did not install software, change reg settings, virus/spy scan turned up neg. What do you think caused this???

i went to check my driver by goign to start, run, type dxdiag and pressed ok. then i went to the display tab and looked at my main driver. it said nv4_disp.dll, i have no idea where i should go to upgrade my driver. i also looked at my device name and it said NVIDIA RIVA TNT2/TNT2 Pro. do anybody know where i should upgrade my driver?

i do have a system installed with Windows 98. I have a cd of installation of Windows XP. Would the CD upgrade my system to XP by running in the CD driver without losing any data in my system.

Ok, I know nothing about wireless. I know that there's a wireless card already in my laptop, 802.11 g , But what do I do to connect? Do I need to buy something else? Thanks.

I'm looking to speed up my computer so I want to know if it's possible to buy a new processor and put it into a computer, or to do the same thing with a hard disk thingy that had more memory. If the second option is possible, would having more memory actually make my computer run faster even if I'm not using a lot of my current memory? Answers to any of these questions would be greatly appreciated.

My site currently is hosted with Yahoo. (SecuritySaint.com) . I am adding two more sites with different domain names and linking them together. I want to go to a less expensive host, will this effect my organic ranking? or hurt in any way? Any info. on CityMax web hosting? or Bluehost? I am considering them.

I does absolutely nothing. I can not upload any picture anywhere. How can I fix this? If I can't fix it, how can I rig it so that I can get the URL or what ever it's called of my picture to post?

I usually encounter this problem with my explorer after my computer is awakened from standby. I have defragmented my c drive, deleted my cookies and temp internet files and still, my IE loads so slow I get an ERROR NOT RESPONDING message. I usually have to cnt, alt, delete and bring me to task manager to undo the program and start over, which does work, but is very annoying. Does anybody have any other suggestions?

When I left click the my computer icon and then left click either one of my cdrom drives M or N and there are no disks in the drives I get the message; M or N:/ is not accessible. The device is not ready. Is this normal? The drives work okay when there are disks in them.

My friends.....this case has been puzzling me all evening. I received a laptop from a government surplus sale which came with windows XP professional installed. When I tried to log in with the username and password they created for me, it says something like "You have been locked out, contact your administrator" So, thinking I was a clever ol' soul, I used winternals ERD commander to attempt to change the Adminstrator password (and every other user's password for that matter). When I try to login to the administrator account (with the password I thought I had cracked and reset) it says incorrect username/password. I also changed the password for the other users listed in the program and when I attempt to log in under their names, I get the same locked out message that I initially described.. I need someone's help here. I don't have the XP cd to simply do a re-install, so I really need this thing cracked. Thanks so much in advance.

My Daughter has a dell with xp...the pc runs real slow when starting and freezes when getting onto the net....but when she uses... messanger it's fine...but still can't surf. She has no antivirus and I can't get to a website to download one because the browser freezes. Whats the best course to take.

When running the A10 BIOS, a pop-up or a window appears stating if i click on ok, it will close everythng and reboot, but when doing that, an error appears stating that i should try again by rebooting and if the problem consists, contact technical support.
