i accidentally hid a folder, how can i get it to become unhidden again? i went to 'properties' and accidentally clicked on 'hidden' and now i can't see it but it's there.

i went to MSN.com and save an article that i liked to read for later to MY Documents. Later that day i tried to open it but i couldn't find it, I later found it in MY REcent Documents and tried to open it ,but it woulnd't open instead a box with the heading "PROBLEM WITH SHORTCUT"appearde and said that the path file is invalid. However since ny PC is used by others in the house hold there is a high possibility the MSN file could have been deleted by someone else. Is there any thing i could do to get the article back by going to the website? or any other means i could retrieve it

Two times in the last week my computer has automatically restarted itself, and then when it's finished booting up again, a message pops up that says "Microsoft Windows: The system has recovered from a serious error. A log of this error has been created." Then i reported the error and it said something like "You received this message because a device driver installed on your computer caused the Windows operating system to stop unexpectedly. This type of error is referred to as a 'stop error'. A stop error requires you to restart your computer."

I won't have time to take my computer to the store to have it looked at until next weekend. Is this something that I can fix by myself? I'm just afraid I'll be working on an important paper or something this week and it will do this and my work will be lost.

whenever I get onthe computer, and every half hour or so, I get the pink box, from mcafee, that there is a virus and it says-"the file- 'c:windows/msupdate.exe' was infected with
W32STRATIONMM
and that it is recommended that I do a virus scan.
So I did a virus scan here and there, and after 4 days, I still get that
box saying the same thing. The box, by the way, says it was cleaned, but, still, the warning keeps popping up. help, please.

Most of the ones I found were either to cartoonish or dealt more with vampires and thats not what I want. I found one I lkied by going thru yahoo images but I haven't been able to find it again. I found it on the pc at the library so looking thru history( you can go on the internet for one hr. 2 times a day but once your time is up it automatically erases history for security reasons) so all I have is the web site address I think thats what it is?) at the bottom of the page. I have Windows XP and Powerpoint 2003. I can insert downloaded music on the first slide but it won't continue through all the other slides - 12 in total. Is there a way of allowing the music to play continually through all the slides?

Installed the new BT home hub yesterday, it came with loads of rubbish like yahoo messenger, bt communicator and soft phone etc, and it seems to have slowed my top spec pc and laptop to 256kb speeds, instead of the 8MB I am supposed to get.
This is too much of a coincidence, and my stated speeds are still 8MB. Any ideas or other experiences will be appreciated!Ta

hp brio pentium 3 600mz. have win 98 se want to upgrade to winxp. have tried upgrade recommened options but stalls when i get to set up windows file.
also reformatted and boot from winxp disk but still hangs at setting up windows files..

I have just purchased The Sims 2 Pets expansion pack, and have all other Sims games installed. Obviously The Sims 2 is very demanding of any OS, and requires an up-to-date video card. I did have an SiS 650_651_M650_M652_740 model card installed, (version 6.14.0010.3620, English) but my walls kept flashing red, as, I understand, is a common glitch with this expansion pack for those of us with older computers.
I subsequently downloaded a new video/graphics card, which is now the bane of my existence, having reduced my display from a maximum of 256bits, to just 4bits. Images are barely viewable, and most of my colour is now a blend of greyscale and very vague coloured dots.
I therefore desperately need advice on what card I should be downloading.
As stated, my system previously ran on SiS 650_651_M650_M652_740 so I need an upgrade to that, I require the return of my 256bit colour, and hopefully improved functioning for my game.

Yes ..
Lets just say aa friend of mine, is having some problems with a version of Photoshop he downloaded off of Limewire.
It downloads perfectly fine.. but when he tries to install it.
Tha Zipped file title Data1 (along w/ Data2 and Engine32) will not open when attempted.
When it is tried to be open a little window pops up saying:
"The Archive is in either unknown format or damaged"

Is there anyway to get around that ... is he doing something wrong ..
I dont think its tha version downloaded off of limewre [1st of all we tried it with 3 diff. versions.. and 2nd, We know a ton of people who have their downloaded version off of Limewire.

And dont tell me to go buy tha real version .... Because it is WAY over-priced, and is something i can not afford.

What Laptop should I buy? Should I wait for the 100 $ Laptop?

I prefer small and light.
