The Site might have been down... I'd try again another day...

I have had itunes since they have first came online. I haven't been online in a long time using my regular computer. I tried this morning, but had problems and got the same message you got. I couldn't even go to apple.com using my browser, although I can now. Maybe it was a problem with Apple. I don't know if IE7 has anything to do with it, but is possible. I have v6 of itunes, so I am upgrading. I'll let you know if it works again...check my message in 1 hour. I will edit.

EDIT - I upgraded to the latest (version 7.something) and I am now in the music store. I guess Apple wont let you in without having a minimum revision. Hope this help you too!

is it you can't connect to the site or that itunes cannot find the connection? if its the first then you'll have to check your security settings and that you have spelled the url correctly, if its the second then you'll have to go into the preferences in Itunes and make sure that disable itunes store is not checked in the parental controls then you should have a link on the toolbar for store....click it and select create account....sometimes it doesn't connect right away but then if you click it again you should get the page showing you the steps for creating an account in the Itunes window.......If all else fails....reinstall
