Installed the new BT home hub yesterday, it came with loads of rubbish like yahoo messenger, bt communicator and soft phone etc, and it seems to have slowed my top spec pc and laptop to 256kb speeds, instead of the 8MB I am supposed to get.
This is too much of a coincidence, and my stated speeds are still 8MB. Any ideas or other experiences will be appreciated!Ta

i changed from 2 meg (btyahoo) to 8meg (btyahoo) and now finding it crashes and slows my computer. apparently the service is too fast for the bt exchange and the pc shuts down to let it catch up.. that was the answer i got from bt.. personally i think its a pile of rubbish and the guy didnt know what he was on about

I haven't had my line up speeded yet but I have noticed a drop in connection speed (and even proven it by testing the line)

I had problems with the software supplied. I called the help desk in india who where terrible. In the end they just configured my homehub remotely but incorrectly. It was lucky I'm a techie and was able to restore the default setting and reconfigure to box myself.

I suspect the problem with line speed is due to the voip option running over the line.
