Yes ..
Lets just say aa friend of mine, is having some problems with a version of Photoshop he downloaded off of Limewire.
It downloads perfectly fine.. but when he tries to install it.
Tha Zipped file title Data1 (along w/ Data2 and Engine32) will not open when attempted.
When it is tried to be open a little window pops up saying:
"The Archive is in either unknown format or damaged"

Is there anyway to get around that ... is he doing something wrong ..
I dont think its tha version downloaded off of limewre [1st of all we tried it with 3 diff. versions.. and 2nd, We know a ton of people who have their downloaded version off of Limewire.

And dont tell me to go buy tha real version .... Because it is WAY over-priced, and is something i can not afford.

Thanks in advance

Adobe will be happy to help you, just send an email to their support site. Or you can download a truly free Photoshop workalike called PhotoPlus 6 from : http://www.freeserifsoftware.com/software/PhotoPlus/

You cant get Photoshop for free in US and any Western country.
and It's illegal, I'm sorry.

But You can Get Free Photo Software From Google

Try Picasa, which is 100% free, easy to use.

A free software download from Google.
Picasa is software that helps you instantly find, edit and share all the pictures on your PC. Every time you open Picasa, it automatically locates all your pictures (even ones you forgot you had) and sorts them into visual albums organised by date with folder names you will recognise. You can drag and drop to arrange your albums and make labels to create new groups. Picasa makes sure your pictures are always organised.

Picasa also makes advanced editing simple by putting one-click fixes and powerful effects at your fingertips. And Picasa makes it a snap to share your pictures – you can email, print photos home, make gift CDs, and even post pictures on your own blog.

Here to Download Picasa for Free:

It's nearly impossible to recover a corrupted ZIP file. You need an intact set of setup files, otherwise it will obviously not install.

Why don't you use Gimp instead of Photoshop? It's not as polished as Photoshop, but it's open-source, powerful, industrial strength and gets the job done (http://www.gimp.org/).

DONT download from limewire. It sucks. Most of the stuff is riddled with virii and spyware. Lets just say a friend of mine told me about this thing called BitTorrent.

I'm not going to tell you how to get around that, what I will do is suggest some free and legal alternatives to PhotoShop.

First up, PhotoPlus, http://www.freeserifsoftware.com/

Next, The GIMP, http://www.gimp.org/ this one is also opensource.

My favorite, Paint.net, http://getpaint.net/

Last on my list is Irfanview (it has its uses) but both PhotoPlus and Paint.Net offer more features (those two are my favorite), http://www.irfanview.com/

you must open the setup.exe , "Data1" is not important... post scriptum: torrents are usually faster
