My uncle downloaded something onto my computer and now it wont start all my pics are on my computer and I CAN'T lose them is there anyway to force it to start or to start it from the Windows XP disk. I have already tried all the F8 options and am getting very frustrated.

I have a file which I have created in windows media player format and I want to write it to a DVD for uni.
How is this possible - do you need special software and if so is there somewhere that you can download it free ?
Also - do you have to have a certain type of computer ?

is "You need to reformat your hard drive!"? I see tons of these answers by people who probably have never done one themselves! This is about the most bogus answer these boobs can give! To begin with, you might end up searching for mobo and other hardware drivers for a month (not to mention the loss of software they will never see again) if you dont know what you are doing! This is to the morons that keep giving this advice! You create more problems from unknowing people than what they had in the first place! You need to consider the fact that if these folks dont know what a reformat entails and some of its pitfalls! Yuoi all might try asking them what the original problem was! I have been building and repairing systems for 20 years and you very seldom find a reformat that will do the job without hunting drivers down!

Things occasionally get stuck in my print spooler and refuse to delete for some reason. I fixed this before by using CMD to stop and restart my spooler, but I forget the precise commands. Something like "start spooler" and "stop spooler", but there was another operative word...

When I open CMD, it reads:

I know enough about computers to be dangerous maybe less so if you can help me please be as plain and simple as possable. What does it mean when there is supposed to be picture and where the picture is located there is a box and inside that box is another small box with an x in it. How do I get rid of this so I can see the picture.

Have managed to drop the entire Desktop into the trash - I think from user folder - and cannot restore it. Have tried dropping it back into the user file and have tried dropping files back on desktop from Trash but it still says that the files are in the trash. Any help would be gratefully accepted! Thanks.
