Both answers above could be the cause. I had this problem once and used a can of condensed air (the same stuff you use to clean your keyboard) to blow any dirt out of the CPU Tower. It worked for mine.

The CPU cooling fan did that on mine. Also possible to be the power supply cooling fan.

might want to back up all important data in case of it being a hard drive. could be fan or if you have a cd in the drive could be your cd drive (or dvd)
