Can we people in America not do one thing that actually makes sense?

It is so inefficient to have the scroll bar so far away from where the links are usually located (and the back button for that matter).

Is there a reason?

i set two passwords for booting and my user(myself). two of my colleages also aware of booting password. when i tried to switch on my PC,on resumption to duty after 3 days, instead of prompting for booting problem, i noticed the above message below it "press F1 to continue DEL to set up". I set up supervisor password by pressing DEL, still the above message is appearing. please let me know how to fix the problem.

I have a cd with pictures and I don't know how to save the pictures to my computer. I can't erase the cd because its not mine so please make sure u know what ur doing. I have windows xp media edition so i have a lot of media programs on this computer. I really appreciate your help thanx!

My very first laptop was a Sony vaio. When I decided to upgrade it, I got another Sony vaio. Now it's time for an upgrade again, and my husband asked me if I had considered buying a Macbook at this time, as oppose to get a Sony Vaio TX. Any suggestions? What are the advantages of having a Mac? Is its Operational System more efficent than Windows XP? Is it simpler to use than another computer? What about picture and sound quality? What happens to my from word and excel documents? I appreciate your comment.

I can see myself on screen using webcam; have trouble sending/receiving im's & don't know what step I am missing. Logitech's help is pretty useless. I've tried AOL im & MSN im, but can't send/receive with either. Can you help? Tks.

The problem started some time ago, originally I thought I didn't have enough ram or I needed a faster graphics card but that didn't fix it. Here are my computer specs:

1) Pentium 4 2.0 Ghz
2) 1.5 Gig Ram
3) 80 Gig HD
4) Windows XP Sp2
5) Nvidia GeForce 6600 GT

I suspect the problem is due to some program I installed. The symptoms are that programs and processes on the computer signficantly slow down WITHOUT a reduction in Ram usage but the CPU is running at nearly 100% usage... this is exemplified when I try to run any video media file where the video is choppy. I usually do a lot of 3d animation, using Blender in particular... but I've tried uninstalling it but it doesn't make any difference. I have done the following in summary:

1) Virus and spyware check
2) Registry clean and defragmentation (used several programs that not only clean the registry but clean up all the junk files lying around the hardrive)
3) Defragmented the HD

None of these have worked.

i have a gateway cx2620 tablet pc.. i got it last april.. everytime i turn it on and open the cd tray i hear funny noises. and when om on the net i always get a windows that says there was an error and asking me whether to send it to microsoft or not then my net explorer would freeze. my optical drive doesnt work good too coz every now and then the tray wont open and most of the time it freezes while im watching. i have sent back to gateway alot of times already but they say theres nothing wrong with it. so is my notebook brocken or something?

Alright, so last night my computer said that I had some sort of spyware infection. One of the "viruses" locked up my computer in only so that I could not change my background. I took care of the viruses (my computer is not showing the little warning signs and info. bubbles in the bottom right hand corner anymore) but I still cannot change my background.

What should I do?

that the letters on the keys are wearing out. Is there any way of replacing the keys. You would think they would put the letters on with paint that doesnt wear off. Not that I need them to type it just looks horrible.

I have an 3 years old P3 933MHZ computor. After some time of its power on (about 15 minutes) a sound occures from it like a small motor runs at fast speed (may be hard drive). What about this sound? Although computor works well.
