Start Button > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Defragmenter
When Disk Defragmenter window has opened, click on the Analyze Button.
A window wil show whether you need to defrag your unit or not.
If it says you have to defrag, just click on the Defrag button.

How do you know it needs "defragging"? Depending on what system your running on, it might not need to be defragmented. You can run a test first to see if it does require doing or not. But if you've received a system warning error then part of the subject matter may have stated to try "defragging", these usually appear after the hard drive keeps running a certain programme and uses all the memory. Easily cured by shutting down and rebooting. The best thing to do is to open your Task Manager and schedule it to be defragmented say once a month. Hope this helps

Look for Accessories on your menu and just click on it, then follow the directions for the next step. After Defragmenting why not run the disk clean up programme as well? This can also be found under Accessories.
