when i start it i choose normal mode and i get the page that seys because my computer was shut down improperly...checking scan disk but that never completely finishes and i can't get to my desktop. i try to open in safe mode but it won't let me do anything. right now i'm on at work

Both computers are running xp...I want EVERYTHING transferred...will a pc to pc file transfer cable do this through the file and settings transfer wizard? I basically want my new computer to have everything my old one does...

I was on msn and someone sent me a link saying "click the link for cool pics of us" but when i clicked it i got a virus! I think it's called blackworm virus or something like that. Does anyone know what to do or how to fix it or something? Please help!

I have a Mac G4 PowerBook that has CD burning capabilities. I am able to burn CDs, but they will only play on my computer. It SAYS it should work on PCs, MACs, or CD-R compatible stereos. I've tried the various formats. Any tricks? Thanks...

I just opened the cd drive of this computer and put a cd in, and when i pressed the button to close it, it wouldn't close. i've been trying forever to pop it back in place or something but it won't budge. What is wrong? What can i do to fix it!? My dad is going to kill me when he sees this.

I tried restarting the computer, i heard it make a noise like it was trying to close, but remained open. So now what should i do???
Do I really need a new cd drive? How much do they cost? Please tell me what i should do!

my hard disk is partitioned into two ,the 1st partition has win 98 on it and the other has winxp..how can i have only i os which is xp on my computer when having the hard disk in two partition?and how can i reformat them?

I was just talkin to my friends on aim, and my mouse/cursor froze. I restrated my computer three times, and it still wont work. I've been using my keyboard (the tab button) to get around on my computer, but it's still hard. How do i get my mouse/cursor to work again? And it's plugged in, and the red light underneath my mouse (the one that i use my hand to move) is on. it's a wireless mouse, too. and i cant click anything either.
