Of course, you can copy it.
But here is what you want.
1. Click on the new cell, where you want the data duplicated.
2. Hit the EQUALS key
3. Click on the old cell, where the data comes from.
4. Hit the ENTER KEY.
This adds a formula, where the data in the new cell simply gets the identical information from the old cell.
Good luck

The EASIEST way, especially if you want more than one copy, is to select the cell containing the information, then clicking and dragging the FILL HANDLE (the little square in the bottom right corner of the selected cell: mouse cursor changes when you put the mouse over it)
Click and drag down, as many times as you like!

You can copy it. Use Control + C, for a keyboard shorcut, or right-click and choose copy. To paste, hit Control + V or right-click and select Paste.
If the info is to be placed in an adjacent cell, you can select the cell and drag it with the little cross showing at the corner. With numbers and dates, though it may give you the next number in order--ex: 4556 becomes 4557, or 6/21/06 becomes 6/22/06--so you wouldn't want to use the drag method, unless you want the next consecutive number or date.

hover your mouse on the lower right hand corner of the cell until a little plus sign appears, then just drag down to the next cell. it usually duplicates the information exactly.

If you want to literally copy the cell, use the Edit menu and Copy and Paste. However, I expect you want to make it so you alter a cell and the one below it changes too.
In this case, use a reference. I'll use an example: I want to copy cell A1 (the top-left cell) to A2 (the cell below it). In A2, I write "=A1", without the speech marks.
Now, if I alter cell A1, A2 changes too.

Right click to copy then paste if you want the exact information. If it's the format you want right click to copy and paste special for the format.
