Why is copying dvds eating my HD space (30 gigs eaten) in files I cannot see in My Documents folder??

How do I wipe it without formatting the HD?

because they leave a data footprint on the hard disk. By copying them, you are burning the file to the disk. You do not have the directory to access the file but it is still there. You need to overwrite the data on the hard disk, or wipe it completely

Not everything is stored in your "My documents" folder. Find out where the files are being stored, and delete them.
