On my home peer-to-peer network ( 5 PC's). I have one PC that only seems partially connected to the intranet and the web. I can surf the web , and I can share it's hard-drive with other computers on the network. I can not ping it from any other computer in the house, and I can not ping anything from it ( including yahoo.com and others YET I can get to their website :-) Services like SETI , VNC, or network games, wil not work. It's like certain ports are blocked and I'm not sure how to re-open them ( even with disabling the firewall temporarily. I set all the computers on the network at the same time and for the life of me can not think of anything I did different on this one PC.

It is an old "off business lease" Dell PII , no that I'm sure that has anything to do with it. My daughters PC is an AMD based system in the same class and it has not problem... Help! any ideas?

When logged onto my server using PuTTY, shell or server logs me off after a few minutes of inactivity. A sys admin once setup a 'screen' for me with time running on bottom of screen. As time was running, server saw activity and did not discconect me for inactivity. I use Fedora core 5. How do I get time to run on bottom of my screen? Is it a 'screen' related command or a shell related command?

Hi:
I want to know are there any website that teaches people how to use group policy to deploy office to workstations? I search a lot of websites but most of them only give a breif summary without actually showing it.
If there are pictures included, it will be good.

I'm not trying to do anything illegal, although I guess the actual act is illegal. My friend forgot her password and doesn't remember the answer to her secret question. If you could give me a cracker or comething along those lines I would greatly appreciate it.

Where can I search for best ethernet-ready printer? Normal searches (bestbuy.com, epinions.com, etc.) don't let you filter non-ethernet ready printers. I need one for my home network.

I ran iptables -L and did not see any rules set up. Am I missing something here? I run a web server with php, mysql and samba. I am new with Linux firewalls so I don't know if these are protected some other way with Ubuntu. I just installed firestarter which is easliy installed from the package manager but do I now have a double firewall some how?

TIA for your time in considering answering this question.
