hey all,

I'm pretty new to the whole widescreen LCD monitor thing. I have just purchased an ASUS 22" widescreen LCD monitor and have noticed that the picture is stretched horizontally to fill the whole screen. On the monitor itself you can adjust between stretched full screen and 4:3 which is normal but cut off on the ends. Is there any way to have a normal looking picture that fills the whole screen??

Thanks in advance

ron

I am in the market for DDR, I have a PC2100 256 megs already but I am confused as to its density and since both the original machine and assembled Dual Core took it in their stride I wonder if that Dual Core machine actually can take high density.

Upon visual inspection of the aforementioned memory module, it fits extreme high density chip to a tee; the stick has only 4 chips, one side only, no name, not even on the chips or PCB. That guy shoved me this 3 yrs ago knowing I wanted a 256 megs PC2100 for a mobo with KM400.

I have an 8800 GTS with 640mb memory (Im sure because it says on the box) and 4gb ram, my os is 32 bit.

When I run dxdiag it shows my memory as 3582mb, this worries me. 32 bit cant handle all 4gb right? so the video card memory takes its place?

I have never been good at math but doesn't 4096-3582=514? Did the static from when I put it in damage my video card memory?

I have a eTower 733i (lucky me - it's old). I am looking for a new power supply because it literally blew on me tonight. I was in the middle of watching a video and my computer completely shuts down.

I know I need a power supply. (I had an old one and hooked it up and now it works.) Thing is I just got a NEW one in June.
I am set to buy one this weekend or next. Trouble with it is, is that the power supply I need is a bit smaller than a standard one. (Or they all come in different sizes?)

What's a brand name that I should look for, or a particular model I could get so that it's guaranteed to fit in my computer?

Suggestions and answers would be great. Thanks!

I design Web sites using a Mac and, without exaggeration, the bulk of my time is spent "troubleshooting" finished sites to look right in Explorer on a PC. They always look fine on my Mac, then I fire up the PC to cross-platform test and they are invariably full of weird white gaps and misaligned elements that take hours of hit and miss tweaking to correct - even though, as I say, Macs seem perfectly capable of rendering them with no trouble at all. Hate to say PCs are s*** (which I always end up yelling during this frustrating process!) but I really can't see any other explanation. If Macs can interpret HTML smoothly, and PCs need so much extra messing around, what else can I say??? Are there any geeks or code monkeys out there who share my frustration or can give me some helpful hints (short of buying one of these diabolical contraptions)?
