I have a eTower 733i (lucky me - it's old). I am looking for a new power supply because it literally blew on me tonight. I was in the middle of watching a video and my computer completely shuts down.

I know I need a power supply. (I had an old one and hooked it up and now it works.) Thing is I just got a NEW one in June.
I am set to buy one this weekend or next. Trouble with it is, is that the power supply I need is a bit smaller than a standard one. (Or they all come in different sizes?)

What's a brand name that I should look for, or a particular model I could get so that it's guaranteed to fit in my computer?

Suggestions and answers would be great. Thanks!

This should do it. I had a HP computer that also took this smaller-sized power supply. They're not that easy to come by or manufactured by the popular brands. Just find the best price you can and hope for the best.

I've seen them sold elsewhere too. Just Google for "eMachines power supply". You will probably have to buy online though. Finding one in a store would probably be next to impossible.

The mainboards tend to fry on the eMachines also. Fixed a couple "dead" ones for friends that had good power supplies and bad mainboards.

As far as I know, most eMachine computers use off the shelf components. Off the shelf power supplies have the same mounting holes, location for the fan, and the outlet. While the over all size may be different, it should still fit.

Just make sure the store has a return policy that is acceptable, just in case....

Better think about saving those documents and getting a better pc. I agree, EMachines are junky. I bought one, it blew up in less than 30 days, they gave me a new one, it blew up in about 30 days, they gave me a third new one and it didn't last long either. You get what you pay for.

Emachines motherboards are junk, modems are junk, monitors are junk, etc. etc. etc. It's probably the cheapest pc you can buy (cheap for a reason ... cheaply built)

You're probably kind of stuck with getting an emachines power supply (which really sucks because they suck) if you want it to fit in your case. If you don't mind it duct-taped on to the back of your case, however, you can probably find something cheaper and better.

This could work (but might not physically fit): http://www.clubit.com/product_detail.cfm?itemno=CA6211170&cmp=AFC-CJ_CBIT
