It has 64mb ram
8gb hardrive
pentium 2 intel 433mhz
compaq presario 5352

The pc is very slow, i will add 256 total of ram, think it will work faster
It might also have viruses since there is none installed, any advice on antiviruses for win 98 not win98se.
If i wanted to change the motherboard how do i know what size of newer motherboard + processor can be used?

Every night just about I'll look at the clock in my system tray and it'll be set back an hour. I'm running Windows XP. This is driving me insane. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening???? Thanks for the help.

i am also planning on buying a Geforce 8800 gts video card with a Ultra / X3 / 1000-Watt / ATX / SATA-Ready / PCI-E Ready / Energy Efficient / Modular Power Supply and a Intel Core 2 Duo E6700 2.66GHz processor. is this a good gaming computer ? Pls help i really want to know if the memory is compatible with the motherboard. My dad will buy me these parts if i get first place in my class.

I need to defrag my hard drive, but it says i need 15% free to do it correctly and i only have 2%. I tried to get rid of the programs I know i don't need, but it stayed at 2%. There are some programs I don't know what they are and do not know if they are important so i did not want to delete them. How can i get the 15% free to defrag the hard drive?

I need a cheap external dvd writer, i don't know where to buy it. I don't want to spend more than 50 in that. I'd like it to burn any kind of DVD except double layer, that's not necessary and light scribe isn't necessary either.

I am trying to connect two routers to extend the wire.

I have a cable modem connected to the WAN port on the router, and a wire running from the Lan port to the other router. Im not sure whether to put it in the wan or the lan on the second router. And I tried putting it in both, and once I put it in the wan or lan, the first router stops working. When put into the lan, there is a ip conflict.

First router connected to the cable modem is a wireless Dlink D-514

The second is a wired router is a wired router, forgot the number. It is a Di-xxx

I did have compuserve and it worked when i was checking at profiles through yahoo messenger. Now I upgraded my internet speed through comcast. Email alerts on the hyperlink on the bottom right wont work and profile search though yahoo messenger which now totally takes the fun away from yahoo.

ok so i have TONS of SPYWARE and its rlly pissing me off. Same damn things come up and its lvl is high, things install on my computer without me even knowing......and when i see the spyware when i selcetd o it do i quarentine it or exclude it....those are the only two choices i have. Also Is CA Antivirus/Spyware any good or should i download another one? HELP!!!
I ALSO GET SO MANY ANNOYING POP UPS IN interbnet expolorer when i dont even have it open.....FFS HELP!!!

okay. suddenly my aim is NOT working!!! it takes forever to connect.. transfer.. negotiate, all that start up stuff.

now it says, "your buddy list has not successfully loaded" or sometimes it doesnt work at all!

I want to download IE 6.0. I assume that I have 7.0. I tried to remove it but could not find it on the add/remove list. I went to microsoft and looked at uninstall instructions and it did not help. Before my IE was not working, I kept clicking and nothing popped up. (I use mozilla mostly but some sites I need IE) It was then I decided to uninstall and reinstall but could not uninstall because I could not find it. What I did was I right clicked IE and delelted it so that it would go into the recyling bin, then I went into the recyling bin and permanently deleted it there, hoping it would work. Then I tried to download IE 6.0 and it said it could not continue set up because a newer version of IE was detected, but I couldnt even find it!! I tried tech support for my computer, they didnt help. I went to microsoft, but am not paying $99 just to email them my issue. What can I do. All I want it IE 6.0, and to be able to use it. Please help me!

When i boot the program it just says:

Remove all media!
Press any key to restart

(in a black background)

So, i do and it just acts as normal and boots. No bios change. It won't let me do it from the cmd either!

I am trying to do this with Floppy Disk. CD didn't work either. This is a dell bios (and i definitely have the right bios update)

I have a laptop with the student and teacher version trial that has expired. I have a professional office to install but I want to use all the data from the trial version. I installed the new without removing the trial version and I could not get it to work. I have been told to remove the trial and then install the full version but how do I make sure I don't loose all the emails and data in Outlook, Word and Excel?

i have a laptop it an HP Pavilion dv9210us n the info said that it had WLAN 802.1b/g network connection so if i buy a router does it has to be a B-router or a G-router or does it mean it can use either 1 that it can take b or g i was thinking of buyin 1 that said g cuz it the cheapest 1 rather than b/g . am looking at linksys brand any specfic model that work w/ the the laptop i have?
