I guess they'd first show up in construction, hazardous cleanups and hospitals first.

Where do you think we'll apply them first?

Hey,
Lookin at your Avator, you look absolutely like an old buddy of mine.
Is your name Farid?

About your robot thing, I don't believe in robots with humanized looks.
They need too much capital to develope and not worth what you get at the end.
Instead of two legs and feet to climb up and down the stairs, a triple wheels system equipped with small jacks to change the distaces of the wheels from the CoG of the triangle would work much better and would costed way less than this thing.
I believe Robots should be efficient. That's why they are there!
Unless we want a robot with rock climbing skills to be able to even pass mountains with no fear, then this thing is gonna go a long way to reach that.I don't think that's gonna happen in the next 50 years. This thing is good in case we want real Robocops in our streets.
Sorry I don't believe in them.
