Do you take any special measures, such as another browser program, shutting down most traffic via firewall.. And to what extent do you trust your bank to keep you secure? Any experience with phishing too?

Loads of questions.. I know, just curious as to other people's experiences..

My sister's Windows Me is corrupted. Everything runs fine, but is really slow and freezes a lot and has a possibility of a virus. I want to format the whole system, but it won't let me. From MS DOS, it does not allow me to format drive C. I want to install a previous version of windows and start from there. Please help! Thank u so much! : )

I’m thinking about buying a computer game, which takes up a lot of memory, and uses a lot of resources. I was wondering if a game is too big, would slow down my computer, even if it’s not running (the game that is.) So, I guess my question would be, would putting a large program (that you won’t use everyday) on my computer slow it down for everyday uses?

2 part question:

First part:

Will linux computers (say one with Mandrake 10.1 installed on on it) be able to co-exist on a Windows Network that has 3 other windows pcs on there?

Second part:

If so, will it be able to view the shares created on the file server along with the ability to print from the printers on the print server?

my laptop cant shut down.

I do what i normally do; start, turn off computer, shutdown. It logs off like normal, then when it says "windows is shutting down" it just stays there, the only way i can get it to go off is to remove the battery which ive done 4 times now and dont wanna damage it.

why is this happening?
